Our Emergency Victim Assistance Program (EVA) is our core program providing short-term, immediate financial aid to victims of crime. We provide emergency financial assistance to crime victims for such urgent necessities as food, housing, medical expenses, transportation, property damage, fees, relocation, and other urgent needs. We serve low- and fixed- income victims of crimes such as robbery, assault, fraud, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, hit and run, victims of drunk drivers, sexual assault, attempted murder, and murder.
The Crime Victims Fund works collaboratively with public safety agents and accepts victims referred by law enforcement or justice agency, medical, social service or educational partner. Our headquarters is located in the Family Justice Center Alliance. We issue a check to support the needs of the victims usually within 24 to 36 hours. Stipend amounts range from $25 to $500 and are paid directly to the vendor of service. Any crime victim may be eligible for support from Emergency Victim Assistance Program, depending on the individual victim’s needs and The Fund’s financial resources.
Monetary assistance is a rare resource that truly transforms and enhances lives in a very tangible way. We also work together with each victim’s local advocate to link community services and resources that provide short and long term support and ongoing care.
