David Ramirez joined the Board of Directors in January 2010. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, 26-year veteran of the San Diego Police Department, and a SDPD Purple Heart and Medal of Valor recipient, Executive Assistant Chief Ramirez brings with him the expertise and commitment to meet the needs of victims of crime in San Diego.
Why did you get involved with The Crime Victims Fund:
“I was moved to become involved because after working
with crime victims in San Diego for the past 26 years, I have seen the need to provide the exact type of assistance offered by
The Crime Victims Fund to those who are unable to help themselves.”
Why is the CVF important to the San Diego Community:
“The Crime Victims Fund is so important because we help
victims of crime that really need the help and are at a real low point in their lives. The Crime Victims Fund is comprised of
a group of professionals who really enjoy helping people in need. We work hard to provide the necessary and valuable services
to crime victims of the San Diego Community.”
Wish for CVF:
“My wish is for the unique and good work of The Crime Victims Fund to be recognized as the valuable
local asset it is. There are no programs like this in other areas. Law enforcement, social services organizations and victims of
crime are fortunate to have such great services available.”
