OUR FUNDING

The Crime Victims Fund operates entirely on funds donated by individuals, businesses and corporations, and private, corporate and community foundations. It receives no government funding, and since it is not subject to the restrictions inherent in some government programs, it has greater flexibility in providing services to victims.

A portion of The Fund's income is derived from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility's a victim restitution/prisoner work program in which outside companies hire prisoners to perform services on the prison grounds. At the discretion of the warden, a portion of those monies is contributed to a non-profit community organization that provides services to victims. In addition, Inmate Community Crews perform services for the Cities of San Diego and Imperial Beach and a percentage of those fees are also contributed to The Fund. The Crime Victims Fund has been the recipient of those funds in San Diego County since 1990.

FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS, AND EMPLOYEE CLUBS

The Crime Victims Fund raises program funds through grants from private, community and corporate foundations. In addition, many employee clubs and associations also support the Crime Victims Fund through annual donations. (See the complete list of contributors at the end of this section.)

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING EVENTS

The Fund produces a series of community fundraising events during the course of the year to raise money for its programs. As with all fundraising for the organization, The Fund depends on the generosity of individuals and businesses for attendance, sponsorships and donations.

For more information on upcoming events, see the "Events" section on this site, or call the Fund at (619) 702-8725
